Luxury Knitwear duo Sam Leutton & Jenny Postle are pleased to present their Autumn / Winter 2013 collection exclusively at London Fashion Week as part of Fash/On Film.
The Collection
Painting and collage are the starting point for the Leutton Postle Autumn / Winter 2013 collection. Taking the crudeness and childlike naivety of the simple brush stroke, the designers tapped into a more primal method of creating marks, later incorporating aspects of collage with card cut-out details. The resulting images were then turned into digital format to be knitted stitch-by-stitch into garments.
Harnessing the use of black, a first for the label, Leutton Postle has created a collection which brings together their signature clashing block colour, mixed with the refinement and strength of silhouette that black provides. An overall more grown-up look with a focus on wearability is key.
Pleats have been combined with pattern and their structural nature allowed to inform the shape of the garments. Waistlines are created by bringing together pleats in bands, a process which is as structurally complex as it is beautifully simple. Where not joined, patterns are fragmented with the movement of the pleats.
