The Hunt.com, the ‘community-powered’ mobile app that is transforming the way that people shop online, announces the launch of its Android app in the UK.  The new app brings The Hunt’s innovative approach to shopping to a far wider audience and - thanks to it being based on Google’s new Material Design framework - a clean, simple-to-use interface to make it easier than ever for users to track down the items they love.

San Francisco-based The Hunt - whose backers include actor Ashton Kutcher and fashion icon Tyra Banks – began its launch campaign in the UK in October 2014.  With The Hunt app, you take a picture of something that you love, post it on The Hunt with your size and budget and the community will help you find it!  The Hunt launch is being supported by the brand’s UK Ambassador, Made In Chelsea’s Rosie Fortescue, whose stylish looks and love of fashion are well documented in the Show and via her blog ‘At Fashion Forte’.

“We’re very excited to be launching our Android app,” says Tim Weingarten, co-founder and CEO of The Hunt: “We’ve created an entirely new design and user experience based on Google’s Material Design framework – providing an even easier, enjoyable way for our community to find the look they want at the price and fit they need."

“The Android launch in the UK is another step in supporting our existing and growing UK community members. Over 150,000 hunts have been started by our UK community and they have solved hunts with more than 75,000 products from UK stores.  Recent UK hunts indicate that current top trends are #flannel and #slouchysweaters, with #kimono also featuring highly.  One of the great things about The Hunt is that we can see very quickly what fashion looks and street styles are trending within our highly fashion-conscious community.”

To mark the launch of the Android app, The Hunt is running a competition for one week from 18th-25th November, to win a £500 shopping spree and styling session with Rosie Fortescue at Westfield London in December: #HuntwithRosie.  The competition is open to all UK consumers who download the Android app and make suggestions for Rosie’s “What Goes With This?” hunt that she’ll start on 18th November. The winner will be announced at 6pm on Tuesday 25th November. Competition rules and Ts & Cs will be on The Hunt blog.

Already well-established in the US following its launch in 2013, The Hunt has accumulated 3 million registered users who have started over 5 million hunts.  Most users enjoy following each other’s hunts, resulting over 50 million ‘follows’ of hunts since launch.

“We cater to the needs of mobile shoppers by providing a service where our community comes together to style each other’s outfits, enabling our members to receive fashion advice while paying it forward by solving other’s shopping related quests, while on the go,” adds Weingarten.

The Hunt drives 2m visits per month to third party e-commerce sites since its US launch, with a 1% - 1.5% conversion rate to purchase on these visits, validating that users visit The Hunt with the intent to shop. 25% of daily app users are referred from The Hunt to a 3rd party ecommerce site.
